Will caponizing a male chicken keep them from becoming a meal or chasing my children? We recently sent a beautiful rooster for slaughter because my 3 kids were scared to go outside with the rooster.
Our hens are just fine with the kids. But now a few of our bantam chicks seem to be looking like roosters. We don't want to lose another birds as the kids get attached or I should say we all have gotten attached:-)
Thank you for any info you can give.

Sorry to hear about your rooster! But in the end, your kids do have to come first.
Caponizing does make roosters less aggressive as they then lack any sex hormones. In the future it would be better to caponize rather than to slaughter.
