I live in Malawi Central Africa.I have learned a lot of things about keeping ducks from reading this article. However I need some clarification on differentiating the duck breeds like the ones we have in my country.
Please shed more light on this.

Within the majority of Africa, including Malawi, most local chickens and ducks breeds have developed as a result of farmers sharing their stock with other farmers and family, therefore there is probably not the usual duck breeds that are found elsewhere, unless you have a breeder in Malawi who practices selective breeding of a particular known duck breed.
However, you will find that the domestic duck breeds of Malawi are hardy. They are more hardy than those duck breeds that have been bred using selective breeding. Your local ducks will have few diseases and will be well adapted to the local weather conditions.
