Good Day
What is the best soap to use for re-batching in South Africa? Please give a brand name.
Many Thanks
Justin

Justin,
I assume you are asking about the hand-milling soap process, rather than re-batching. Soap makers re-batch their soap after a failed attempt or they mill it to create different effects, but this is still re-batching.
Hand-milling, on the other hand, is taking commercial soap and doing something with it, or using your own homemade soap and grating it for something else. So, confusingly similar, but very different.
The best soap for hand-milling is soap that is colorless and unscented. This is the perfect base for you to go wild and add whatever scents and colors you want and create something totally different. Baby soap or soap for sensitive skins can sometimes fall into this category.
You can also use soap flakes that you should be able to find in the aisle with the washing powders.
It is a long time since I was in South Africa, so wouldn't like to come up with a brand name in case it is no longer available.
