Cambridgeshire is an area that has two of the most historic cities in England; Cambridge and Ely. The flat land of the Fens lends itself to spectacular sunsets and home to a plethora of bird life.

Take a trip to Wicken Fen, one of the most important wetlands in Europe, and where over 5000 species of insects and wildlife have been recorded. Boardwalks over the area allow you to view the fens and its inhabitants with little disturbance. It is a bird watcher's paradise, and many mammals can be seen such as otter, roe deer, grey squirrels, rabbits, hares, stoats and foxes.

There are many picturesque villages for you to discover on your next farm holiday, such as Granchester, the home of the poet Rupert Brooke who lived in the Old Rectory, and probably two of the most beautiful villages in the county; Houghton and Wyton.

Over the weekends from April to October, and only in the afternoons, one can visit the old mill at Houghton and on Sunday afternoons wholemeal flour is milled. You can purchase the flour afterwards and stay for a cup of tea and a light refreshment.
